Dear Fellow Pennsylvanian,
When it comes to electricity service, Pennsylvania consumers deserve the freedom to choose their electricity supplier from a wider range of options, with more transparency in billing and more innovative energy options, if they want them.
You may be asking, but doesn’t Pennsylvania already have electricity choice?
Unfortunately, this isn’t the case right now.
More than twenty years ago, Pennsylvania lawmakers passed legislation intended to offer Pennsylvanians a wider choice of affordable electricity options.
But the intent of the legislation was never realized, and in the decades since, the system has continued to stifle and undermine consumer choice in electricity companies and plans – impeding efficiency, service, affordability, transparency, and innovation.
It’s time to provide real electricity choice to all Pennsylvanians. That’s why we’ve joined together to form Choose Who You Use. We support:
- Promotes transparency and access to technologies that give customers greater control over their energy usage and billing.
- Provides new consumer protections from high-pressure sales tactics and unfair contracts.
- Creates more options, including a wider range of state-qualified retail providers competing on service and price.
- Strengthens and secures our state electricity infrastructure.
- Institutes industry-financed special funds to help lower-income families and small businesses.
Reform is needed that will allow utilities to focus on infrastructure while dedicated retail electricity providers supply the widest and most affordable range of options to consumers.
We look forward to a future where Pennsylvanians can count on reliable and affordable choices for their electricity service.
